Laini Reeves, the celebrity hairdresser behind Burgeon
Laini Reeves: The Celebrity Hairstylist Behind Burgeon Hair
For more than three decades, Laini Reeves has worked at the highest level of the hair industry, creating some of the most recognizable looks on red carpets, editorial shoots, film sets and international press tours.
But after years of working with hair from the outside, a personal health diagnosis led Laini to start looking somewhere completely different.
She began asking a much bigger question:
What if better hair doesn’t begin with hair at all?
That question ultimately became Burgeon Hair.
From Birmingham to Hollywood
Laini Reeves was born and raised in Birmingham, England, and built her career through the professional hairdressing world.
Long before celebrity styling became synonymous with social media, Laini was learning the fundamentals: cutting, styling, education, product performance and, most importantly, understanding how hair behaves.
Her career eventually brought her to the United States and into Hollywood, where her work has appeared on red carpets, magazine covers, major press tours and some of the entertainment industry’s most visible events.
Over the years, Laini has worked with an extraordinary roster of talent, including Emily Blunt, among many others.
But working with beautiful hair for a living also meant seeing what happened when something changed.
Clients would suddenly begin shedding. Hair that had always been thick could become noticeably finer. A part could become wider. A ponytail could feel smaller.
Stress, hormonal changes, nutrition, aging, illness and lifestyle could all appear to affect what was happening to the hair.
And Laini began to realize that traditional haircare could only address part of the story.
The Diagnosis That Changed the Conversation
For Laini, the turning point became personal when she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune thyroid condition.
The diagnosis led her down a path of research.
She began looking more closely at the relationship between the gut, nutrient absorption, inflammation, thyroid function and hair health. The more she learned, the more she began questioning why the beauty industry so often treated thinning hair as though it were something happening only on the surface.
After decades of treating hair externally — with shampoos, conditioners, masks, treatments and styling products — she started looking beneath it.
Hair follicles are living structures. They depend not only on the environment surrounding the scalp, but on what is happening within the body.
That realization changed the way Laini thought about hair.
And it became one of the driving forces behind Burgeon’s inside-out approach to hair wellness.
Why Laini Created Burgeon Hair
Burgeon wasn’t created in a corporate boardroom by someone searching for the next beauty trend.
It came from more than 30 years spent behind the chair, combined with Laini’s own search for answers.
She wanted to create a system that approached hair from both directions: inside and out.
The Burgeon Daily Ritual combines nutritional support from within with a topical scalp serum designed to support the environment around the follicle.
Rather than asking customers to add an endless collection of products to their bathroom shelves, the philosophy is deliberately simple:
Support the system. Support the scalp. Give it time.
Because hair doesn’t transform overnight.
A Hairstylist’s Approach to Hair Growth
When you’ve worked with hair for decades, you learn to notice changes most people miss.
You notice the ponytail becoming smaller.
You notice more scalp showing through the part.
You notice the little hairs that never seem to reach the length they once did.
You notice when someone who never thought about shedding suddenly starts looking at the hair left behind in the shower, on their clothes or in their brush.
And you also learn that people don’t simply want “hair growth.”
They want their hair back.
They want density.
They want strength.
They want to stop worrying every time they wash their hair.
They want to look in the mirror and recognize themselves again.
That emotional reality has always been part of the thinking behind Burgeon.
Professional Experience Meets Clinical Science
Laini didn’t want Burgeon to rely solely on beautiful packaging, testimonials or promises.
The system was put through a 90-day third-party clinical study, allowing the brand to measure changes rather than simply talk about them.
That distinction matters.
The hair-growth category has become crowded with dramatic claims, overnight solutions and products built around whatever ingredient happens to be trending.
Burgeon was created to take a different approach: professional hair expertise combined with science, consistency and measurable results.
Why 90 Days Matters
After more than three decades as a hairstylist, Laini knows perhaps better than most that hair requires patience.
Hair follows a biological growth cycle. It doesn’t operate according to a marketing calendar.
That’s why Burgeon recommends committing to the ritual for at least 90 days.
Consistency matters.
Supporting healthier-looking hair isn’t about using something three times and deciding whether it worked. It’s about creating an environment that supports the hair and giving that process time.
More Than Another Hair Supplement
Burgeon represents the culmination of Laini Reeves’ career behind the chair, her own personal health journey and her belief that the beauty industry needs to think differently about thinning hair.
Not simply:
What can we put on the hair?
But:
What’s happening beneath it?
What’s happening at the scalp?
What support is the follicle receiving?
And how can we support healthier, fuller-looking hair from both the inside and the outside?
For Laini, those questions started professionally.
Her Hashimoto’s diagnosis made them personal.
The search for answers became a mission.
And eventually, that mission became Burgeon Hair.
The Laini Reeves Philosophy
Great hair has never been about chasing perfection.
It’s about understanding hair, respecting its biology and giving it the support it needs to thrive.
After more than 30 years of working with hair at the highest level, Laini Reeves created Burgeon around one simple idea:
Don’t just treat the hair you can see. Support the system behind it.
